A model with a minimalist, subtractive design, free from ornate decoration. Because of this, both boldness and delicacy are accentuated. The structure, which hides the joints and screws of each part, is so precise that at first glance, you wouldn't realize it has an 8-piece construction. The lugs, making the most of the structure, have a bold, clean, vertically polished shape, with beautiful edges that stand out. While there are many models that showcase their complex construction, this one deliberately chooses not to, exuding a mature allure.

True to the collection concept at the time—'Style over status, smart rather than luxurious'—the design is minimal, with no unnecessary ornamentation. It is simple, yet exudes a sense of luxury and sophistication.

A distinctive side view with a lowered center of gravity. The case back, curved from 12 to 6 o'clock, further enhances the comfortable fit on the wrist.

The 8-piece case structure features high-quality surfaces and sharp edges on each part. The sides of the lugs have a unique, vertically cut shape.

The case sides are tapered to avoid a bulky appearance. The design emphasizes strong reflections.

A beautiful dial, elegantly crafted to ensure legibility.

The 2 o'clock position features a hidden push button, but both the 2 and 4 o'clock positions are shaped to look like regular push buttons. The band is slightly narrower than the case, and the clever use of polished finishing gives the design a clean and refined look.

A separate structure allows for flawless, distortion-free polishing. Although many screws are used, only four are visible from the back. At first glance, you wouldn't realize it has an 8-piece construction.
ENGINEER'S EYE
Puzzle-like Structure
We started by creating a model with a concept different from CITIZEN’s designs to date, so I remember how challenging it was to bring that design to life in manufacturing as well.
Because the case body is divided into as many as eight small parts, we had to push the precision of each part to the absolute limit. To prevent the parts from hitting and scratching each other during assembly, we created a dedicated jig specifically for this case.
The dial also features a design with a metal ring laid out on it, and processing that ring part was another challenge. Because the shape is interrupted at the 3 o’clock position, there was a risk of deformation during machining. We moved forward with prototyping while adjusting the ring thickness in consultation with the designer.
Thanks to those efforts, we were able to create a new product that feels modern and integrated.
