The debut model of xC in 1996. The concept of Cool, Clear, and Creative is embodied in the sharp case and band shape, as well as the simple dial design.
Looking back at the various trends of the 1990s, rather than the so-called "kawaii" or the stereotypical "women = pink" gentle and feminine image, it seemed that women with strong will, both outwardly and inwardly strong and cool, were the trend in fashion and music. That atmosphere is also reflected in this xC. The dial color variations are also lined up with crisp white and black, giving it a unisex design.
The sharp and strong design of xC at that time, which gives an immediate sense of strength, has evolved along with changes in women's consciousness and fashion trends, but the core spiritual strength has been consistently inherited in the current xC concept.
Through the watch, you can feel the atmosphere of that era and the unchanging spirit that has been passed down from it.

With an overall sharp surface composition, it gives a very cool impression. The glass is made thick and boldly cut, which casts deep shadows on the dial and adds depth to the simple design.

The main body of the case has slightly rounded surfaces. In contrast, the bezel is flat and sharp. Since the overall shape is roughly simple, the boldly thick glass stands out.

The bezel is sharp, while the body has a rounded shape. Although the impression may seem rigid, the parts that touch the skin are rounded, making it comfortable to wear.

The short lugs have a soft surface shape. The sloped ends of the lugs and the thin cut surfaces on both sides are polished to a mirror finish and shine brightly. The hairline finish on the top surface gives a sharp impression.

The band has a very rough and simple shape. The surfaces are flat and sharp. Since most current xC models have a curved top surface, this feels fresh.

There are no indexes, and the simple dial is finished with white painting. Around the left and right sub-dials, there are brightly shining circular graining, which makes the dial look tight and refined.

Simple red and black characters. Only the 'S' at the very top of the date, indicating Sunday, is in red.

The bold, straight-shaped thick indexes are roughly cut, giving a strong and solid impression.
ENGINEER'S EYE
Sharp Faceting
After a long run of women’s models with a predominantly soft look, this model takes a sharp-focused approach. While carefully ensuring there are no harsh edges, we paid close attention to edge definition and surface quality to achieve a crisper impression.
We used an expensive sapphire glass and made it luxuriously thick so that its cuts stand out, which is a key element in expressing this model’s sense of clarity. With cut glass, emphasizing large facets can make the dial (index) appear distorted due to refractive effects. To mitigate this, we prepared several samples with different cut angles and evaluated them.
