In the early 2000s, when travel demand was increasing worldwide for both business and personal purposes, this watch was introduced as the world’s smallest quartz world time watch at the time. The watch, featuring five distinctive dials, was created with the idea of allowing users to instantly see the time in different cities at a glance. Targeted at female users, the “Five Faces” arranges its simple yet sharp bangle-shaped case vertically. The delicate sheep leather strap not only gives a contemporary and elegant impression, but also offers excellent comfort, making it both a functional watch and a modern accessory. The impressive "Five Faces" is a practical tool that tells the time for each “face,” serving as a world time teller for everyone.

A very unique & delicate watch which can show 5 cities local time.

Bangle design with sharp case line appear simple contemporary styling.

The bangle-shaped case with a polished finish features a contemporary and elegant design.

The city names are expressed by engraving rather than ink. The refined font is perfectly suited to the sharp and clean case.

Hidden crown keep the case clean & sharp with smooth curve.

The combination of the sharp, polished case and the soft-textured sheep leather strap gives the impression of both a watch and a contemporary accessory.

The fine sunray finish on the dial creates a delicate luster, giving the dial a mirror-like high reflectivity.

The tips of the hands are rounded, echoing the design of the bezel. The hour hand is colored red, making the time easy to read.

World’s Smallest Quartz Movement
A world-time watch equipped with five of the then world’s smallest analog quartz movements. It was developed as a high value-added watch made possible by ultra-compact movements achievable precisely because they are quartz, paired with the freedom of design that leverages them.
Compared to CITIZEN’s previously smallest movement, it achieves an overwhelming reduction to about one-third the area, and even less than half when compared with other companies’ small movements. In 2007, it was recognized by Guinness World Records as the smallest movement in the world.
To achieve miniaturization, a button-based correction system was adopted instead of a crown, and dedicated downsized components were prepared for the crystal resonator and the battery. Reliability was also enhanced for use as a movement in high-end jewelry watches, with design considerations such as the use of jewel bearings and a high-capacity capacitor to ensure stable operation even with ultra-compact batteries.
Attention was paid to the movement’s internal appearance, and, as with “The CITIZEN,” selected experts handled everything from parts machining to assembly. New challenges were also pursued for the exterior, including a case finished entirely by CNC machining from raw material, and bands such as a flexible metal mesh band wrapped with genuine leather.
