A fresh and dynamic design
Since 1985, CITIZEN has led the market with “innovation” and “functionality” after launching the world’s first diver’s watch with a depth gauge—the AQUALAND. In 2005, as AQUALAND marked its 20th anniversary, a “revamp of the specifications and design” was called for. By driving each set of hands with an independent motor, elapsed dive time could also be indicated by the hands, eliminating the previously necessary rotating register ring. Fully leveraging that benefit, while inheriting the signature sensor at the 9 o’clock position—an identity of the line—we achieved a “fresh and dynamic design” that clearly sets it apart from other diver’s watches.
