Feeling the Passage of Time

Since 2016, CITIZEN L has made sustainability the axis of its product concept. As the first model in this direction, we created a watch that embodies the concept together with the architect Sou Fujimoto. Linking “light,” the source of life, with “time,” which has no inherent form, this new approach lets you feel time through the shifting of light: sapphire glass that seems wrapped in moonlight emits a gentle, richly nuanced glow. The strap features an original pattern woven with Kyoto Nishijin textiles, evoking the shimmering of light. We propose a new form of luxury that fuses product and craftsmanship. Winner of the 2016 Good Design Award.
