Beauty of the Cosmos

The standout feature of this model is the adoption of the second-generation, so to speak, “ring solar,” a form of light-powered technology. A ring-shaped cell around the outer edge of the dial absorbs light to generate electricity. Unlike a standard Eco-Drive, it allows the use of a high-quality metal dial; however, it requires sufficient dial height. Turning that constraint to our advantage, we employed a prominently tall indicator ring to embody the brand concept of “Beauty of the Cosmos.” At 6 o’clock, the dial features “Jinji Raden,” an inlay technique that scatters the nacreous layer of shell, resulting in a model distinguished by a dial that is both three-dimensional and delicate.
