The World at 10,000 m Altitude
CIRRUS was named after cirrus clouds that appear around 10,000 meters above the ground. The design was inspired by the “scenery” and “natural phenomena” at that altitude. The round case line evokes the Earth seen from above as a broad, sweeping arc. The wave line that accents the case takes its motif from the jet stream, expressing the way it flows across the sky in curves. To evoke clouds floating in the sky, the indexes and printing are arranged on a transparent, funnel-shaped dial to convey a sense of buoyancy and layered depth. Winner of the Good Design Award in 2013.
